Volleyball Program Development
-
Assess the inventory of volleyball/sport infrastructure and equipment in every city community. Based on this inventory, consider what equipment will be needed to run the program
-
Determine an approximate number of student-athletes interested in the program based on the try-out activities.
-
Determine what additional funding opportunities may be available to hire coaches/staff persons to run the program.
-
Appoint program coordinator and lead coaches in every district to assist with start-up to implement the program.
-
Develop program guidelines, policies and procedures for the program delivery. Consider things such as health and medication guidelines, staff’s awareness of participants profile, and discipline policies.
-
Promote Coach Babes Volleyball Camp in schools, community newsletter, stating ages and skill levels, module duration and registration details.
-
Community districts should conduct 2-3 day staff training prior to camp start date. Sessions that could be offered at the training include awareness, volleyball fundamental movement skills, volleyball technical and tactical skills and team building skills, camp policies and guidelines.
